Studio YUVA is a multidisciplinary design studio specializing in custom furniture, conceptual sculpture, and interior design.

Each project is curated to provoke playful explorations in home-setting, spark curiosity about materiality, and apply intuitive aspirations from East and West influences.

At Studio YUVA, we drive our attention in collaboration with our clients through listening to each of their unique life stories and experiences. By exploring what makes them feel the most at home, we transform the diverse feelings of their inner landscapes into tangible exterior surroundings, bridging a comforting setting to unwind.

In furniture and sculpture form-making, the fast-paced evolution of technologies gifted the world with endless possibilities. However, Studio YUVA aims to ‘slow down’ the ever-evolving human inventions by integrating modern techniques and traditional crafts in search of a balance that still shines the timeless wisdom in life-building.

The life force behind Studio YUVA is Yu-Wen ‘Twiggy’ Chen and everything/everyone that inspire them to be on the path of design and craft.

The name YUVA derived from research behind Yu-Wen’s name and their connections with their mother, Ah-ma(grandma), fluidities in their cross-cultural identity, and personal spiritualities.

Born and raised in Taiwan, Yu-Wen found themselves in San Francisco, California, after transferring their design school to California College of the Arts. While building their skills in industrial design, it is through studying furniture design that they found a true voice in Craft. Since 2013, they’ve collaborated with furniture designers, craftsmen, and interior designers to further their understanding of their creative pursuits. With both backgrounds in Eastern and Western life experiences, Yu-Wen brings a blend of both influences to their design practice.
